Good News

It is very pleasure to share a news with all of you, Balasadan, an orphanage for girls in Warangal (Lashkar bazaar) which was running in a rented house is alloted a permanent building at Subedari warangal from Government.

All praise to Anitha Reddy for her continuous pressure on the Government authorities, which resulted in this success. The house hosts about 65 children. That said, as the house is very new they are badly in need of basic amenities like ceiling fans, tube lights, buckets etc.
I request all of you to help me to fulfill their needs.
I'm planning to visit the home this weekend, let me know if any one is interested.

RUN is official now!!

RUN (Reach U(s) in Need) is no more a Google group now, it is now registered under Office of the Registrar of societies. A brief history on it:

This was started in June 2008 collecting small funds from my thick friends and colleagues in Satyam and distributing things needed to social homes mostly in Waranagal and at times in Hyderabad. Then on a day I found Anitha Reddy's number through a friend and I contacted her and was greatly inspired and motivated by her work, she takes care of 50 social homes in Warangal district, this is when I found an apt channel to help more people and reach many homes through her and to ensure that the funds are not misused.

Many folks impressed by the concept choosed and more people contributed to the good cause. In nearly about 17 months i.e., by November 2009 the funds collected reached 2 Lakhs, this is
the great help done by you which had benefited hundreds of needy people including the recent flood victims.

With all your encouragement then got the idea to register RUN as a NGO, and after some delay it is registered now. Need more and more assistance from you to make this bigger and better. Soon we are going to open a bank account on the name of RUN
, will update you all on this soon and you can transfer funds to it.

Once again thanks to every one helping RUN running with out any hurdles. Please give us your valuable thoughts in improving RUN and its activities.

Your comments are most welcome.

Huge response for flood victims

As we all know, the floods have devastated many villages in four districts of our state, umpteen social activists, media agencies and plethora of kind hearted people came forward to help them. Initially we decided to donate Rs. 2,000 to TV9 flood relief fund from RUN and carried 2,000 cash to tv9 office. I reached tv9 office, Banjara hills and was surprised to see heaps of clothes already collected and a lot more are coming in autos, two-wheelers etc. and donating clothes, rice, medicines, pulses and many more.
There were 2 guys who were sitting in front of the entrance door to help people like me, I went told them that I want to donate Rs. 2,000 to flood victims, and I got cash for the same. They suggested me to either donate either food or medicines or cheque/DD.
Next day I carried a cheque for Rs. 2,000 and couldn't resist to carry my cam, I want to click the pick of the clothes being collected.

We spread a word in IBM about the fund collection for flood victims and there was a very huge positive response, with in two days we collected around Rs. 16,000. Many thanks to every one who came forward to help the needy.
Below is the list of things donated to TV9 towards flood victims:
Rice - 100 kgs
Water packets - 500
Wheat flour - 100 kgs
Medicines - 3,000
Tamarind - 50 kgs.
Upma rava - 50Kgs

It took great time and effort to move all those items to tv9. All the credit goes to Priyanka, Ganesh and Umesh.

Premalayam Old age Home

Premalayam is a old age home accomodating 61 woman,it was started in 1998 wth 4 woman.

St.Ann's is a christian hospital located at kazipet Darga.Management of the hospital provided one wing of shelter in hospital to the old age home and itself providing food and sambar also from 11 years. Now the old age home calls by name as 'StAnn's Old age Home'.

Management preferrs to take the old woman older than 50 years or who dont have their children to take care of them or who dont have any other source to continue their survival.Even they are ready to welcome the 30 yrs old physically challenged woman into their home.

If the woman had their children and if they are wiling to pay the expenses of every month for the woman, the home is not ready to accept for that. It's a purely service oriented home. They wants to continue their service,But they dont have any regular donors for Grossary and provisionals items, few donors like RUN will donate few items but not on regular basis. In the month of June RUN donated Towels and In August we have donated items like Soaps,Detergent Soaps,Tooth paste,Hair Oil and Buns.

Anitha Reddy is a volunteer taking care of this home from the beginning.Since 1998 she have been donating 3 pair of sarees per a woman on a yearly basis.

If anybody have unused pair of sarees or if you want to donate any useful matieral, please contact Anitha reddy or me in this regard.

Spandana Mentally Challenged Home.

Spandana is a home for Mentally challenged people started in 1999 with 2 children,Now it is accommodating around 65 children(18 are def/dum children and 42 are mentally challenged children).Among the 65 children 20are day scholars. This home provides the education with few private teachers.Few of the day scholar's parents will pay the fees for their children education. It was started by one middle class family.Initially it used to run with out taking any help fromthe other people.Going forward count of the children got increased in the home. They were unable to run it now without any help.

In 2005 and 2006 they received help from Govt. scheme SSA(Sarva Shiksha Adyan),they used to afford 11 Rs per head on a daily basis and provided the accomodation.Recently LIC(Govt) allotted a vehicle(4 wheeler) to the home by seeing their services to the children. But even they are not in a stage to afford the expenditure for the maintenance of the vehicle.Expenditure of the home is approximately 40k per month.

Now they are not receiving any help from Govt for their minimum needs,So now i hope its our duty to help those needy people for their survival.

From the last three months we have donated items like provisions, rice, fruits, Note books etc on behalf of RUN.They are very happy with our service and sent us a letter of Than
ks. The letter is given on my name as they only know me, but its
all your co-operation and help which makes those innocents get their minimum needs.
I visited the home few times,I felt very happy seeing their services to those children and that made me to help them for their continued existence.
